The HCL Challenge (Gas, Bloating, Constipation)

The HCL Challenge

Optimal digestion is essential for the proper functioning of the whole body. One of the major causes of digestive problems is inadequate hydrochloric acid (HCL) in the stomach. The parietal cells are the cells in your stomach responsible for making the hydrochloric acid. The HCL, in turn, breaks down the foods you eat.

As you eat fats, protein, and carbohydrates, the HLA initiates digestion. A low level of hydrochloric acid in your stomach may cause your digestive system to function improperly, resulting in conditions like constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, and other digestive problems.

To determine if you have the appropriate level of hydrochloric acid in your stomach to ensure optimal digestion, you need to conduct the HCL challenge.

Impact of Low HCL in Digestive Process

For apt understand, let's say north is your stomach and south is for pooh. Therefore, the digestion process starts from north and goes south. So, you need first to ensure you chew your foods properly. Then the food goes into the stomach after chewing. You need to have enough hydrochloric acid in your stomach for this to happen because inadequate hydrochloric acid in the stomach disrupts the normal digestive process. Inadequacy HCL causes your food to leave your stomach and go into your small intestine.

Lack of enough HCL means the parietal cells in your stomach are not producing enough HCL. This means your pancreas won't be turned on to produce enough digestive enzymes and also not tell the gallbladder to start producing bile. This makes you have deficient pancreatic enzymes and deficient bile acid. These deficiencies will prevent your GI system from functioning optimally and result in bad gut, constipation, bloating, diarrhea, and more. Thus the hydrochloric challenge test is required to know the supplements to take and the digestive programs to follow to repair and restore your gut.

You may do glutamine, Aloe vera, mushroom, licorice, and other fancy supplements and GI protocols increase your hydrochloric acid level. If you still do not have enough hydrochloric acid in your stomach after all these, do not worry. Kindly read this post till the end. In this post, I will recommend highly effective yet cheap capsules to repair and restore your gut. I will also share the detailed protocol I have been using for the last ten years to reverse my patients' chronic degenerative conditions and GI problems.

The Problem of Big Protein and its Effect

You don't have to worry about the issue of big protein if your digestive enzymes and bile acids break it down for it to get absolved into your gut without causing inflammation. However, lack of enough HCL, digestive enzymes, and bile acid may cause big proteins. For instance, let say you take lactose that doesn't get broken down currently. This causes big protein, which crosses your gut barrier into the bloodstream, which shouldn't be there. Once your immune system discovers this big lactose is in an inappropriate place, it starts to attack it. And this is what causes global inflammation, which leads to all sorts of problems. It may lead to brain fog, brain fatigue from alja, chronic fatigue, tendon problem, muscle pain, IBS, Crohn's disease, thyroid problems, hypothyroid, hypothyroid, hyperthyroid. All these different forms can be caused by your leaky gut caused by poor digestion.

Improving Your HCL and Digestion

Betain, a tiny Petain HCL, is made from vital nutrients. It has pepsin, which is also another digestive enzyme that breaks down food. It also has some other added things that aid digestion, but it's primarily HCL. This capsule can be used to repair your gut and improve your HCL. You don't necessarily need to get this exact brand; just make sure the brand you purchase carries Petain HCL label. It is, however, crucial to know the protocol to follow when using it. So, I'm going to carefully lay out the protocol; please follow it thoroughly.

Firstly, start with a half capsule so that with every meal, you take a few bites, let's say you're eating fat or protein. But it's important to note that whenever you take the HCL, you must eat fat, and you must eat protein. Be careful not to take Petain HCL with an apple or just carbohydrates. You only take HCL when you're eating fat, protein, and carbohydrates. So you can eat carbohydrates, but it needs to include fat and protein. This is a must! People who defied these directions and had only an apple or carbs took one capsule of each cell and had problems.

It's best to start with the half capsule after finishing your meal, and each meal must contain fat, protein, and carbohydrates. You continue the routine till you get heartburn. Once you've gotten some heartburn, then we know that your HCL has reached its maximum capacity, and there is no need to use the capsule further. So, whenever you've reached when you've got heartburn, then you're going to scale down.

Let's assume you each there times a day it means you have to use half capsule with every meal. That is breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Most people, in my experience, need to take five, six, seven capsules before they get heartburn.

What if you don't get Heartburn after Using Several Petain HCL Capsules?

Interestingly, some people are taking eight capsules with each meal and not getting any heartburn at all. If you fall within the category of these people, it implies that your guts may be destroyed, and your parietal cells are not producing hydrochloric acid. You might be wondering why is it that your parietal cells can't provide in your stomach? It could be due to various reasons.

For one, your HCL generation level may reduce due to any degenerative health condition you may have. As the condition continues to get worse, so will your hydrochloric acid level continue to reduce. So as we age, we have less HCL production. And as we age with chronic problems, we have even lesser production.

Another reason for less production of hydrochloric acid is genetics; some people might not be producing enough of the HCL just to from the get-go. It's important to note there's a possibility of that. Someone is genetically prone to not producing enough; they will produce some, right don't produce enough over some time. Therefore such persons will not be producing enough hydrochloric acid their whole life. For instance, you might have noticed that you had GI issues in elementary school or high school.

How do you Figure Out the Number of Capsules you Need to Repair your Gut?

So what we want to do here is to figure out what you're going to want to use and need for the HSA. Let's assume you've just taken a half capsule for three days? No, Harpreet. Then on the third day, you move up to a capsule. You do that for three days. So, on your seventh day, you'd go up to two capsules for breakfast, two capsules for launch into two capsules for dinner.

However, it is best to go very slow. There's no need to rush into this protocol and start taking eight capsules right away. Do not do that. Each time you go up an ingredient, be sure to do that for three days, and on the fourth day, you'd go up another capsule. For example, if you start with a half capsule, you can go up to full capsules on the fourth day. So, you will take that for three days. And if you don't get any heartburn, then you go up to two capsules.

Then you take that for three days. And then, if you don't get any heartburn, you go up to three capsules - three capsules for breakfast, three capsules for lunch, and three capsules for dinner. After three days, if you still don't get heartburn, you will go up to four capsules for breakfast, four capsules for lunch, and four capsules for dinner. You do that for three days, and then you go up to five capsules for each meal.

Then you can go up to up to seven capsules if you still don't get heartburn. But that is the maximum that I tell people to go up to now.

What to do When you get heartburn after using four Capsules?

Assuming you use up to four capsules before getting heartburn, what you need to do next is to go down a gradient. So, you go down to three capsules because three capsules are your stable datum. Take three capsules in the morning, three capsules for launch, and three capsules for dinner. You will have to do that continually. This is because once you start getting to the root cause of the problem, you start turning your body's physiology around, you start healing your body, decreasing inflammation, and doing all these things that I recommend people do on a functional medicine level. These little cells can start producing their hydrochloric acid. So once you get up to a certain level, you scale down, then you might be at three.

Then when you start getting heartburn at three tablets, you should go down two capsules. When you follow the protocol long enough, you will know the amount of capsule you need for each meal as you gradually return your gut to normal. So you're going to know what you need to do and how much you need to take as you go along with this process.

Now, if you're out there and don't have any heartburn with seven capsules, that indicates that your GI system is messed up. Now, I advise people not to go more than seven capsules and then figure out what's happening with that.

Irrespective of which brand of HCL betain you buy, make sure you stick with the brand because the brand will have a certain amount. The ones with vital nutrients that I recommend have two capsules but contain 1040 milligrams of basically Botein HCF. If you're going to start with one-half capsule, a half capsule, you're going to start with 250 milligrams.

It is advisable to start slow and then move your way up while you stick with your brand. This lets you know how many capsules you need because not every brand has the same amount in there. Some are going to vary with the amount. Some are more; some are going to be less. It doesn't matter how much you start with; be sure to start with a half capsule and then go from there.

Ultimately, this protocol above is the simplest step I've taken over the last 10 years to reverse my patients' chronic degenerative conditions and chronic GI problems. Surprisingly, this protocol is being completely missed, and it's not even being discussed in the functional medicine world. And to be honest, the HCL is cheap. They have enzymes that are way more expensive than butane. HCO is one of the cheapest supplements that you can buy out there. So I want to make sure that you don't miss it.
